WORKSHOP: Design a Natural Mini-Meadow

Description:

Meadows, with their stunning diversity, serve as vital habitats for wildlife and pollinators, often sprawling across vast expanses of land. However, the advantages of these ecosystems can be embraced on a smaller scale, perfectly suited for most residential landscapes. The design possibilities are limitless, offering the flexibility to cultivate a tranquil, artistic ambiance, a more untamed natural allure, or something in between – entirely at your discretion!  Remarkably, these gardens flourish without the need for pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. Once established, they demand minimal watering even during severe drought conditions.

Central to these designs is the careful selection of plants, ensuring harmonious combinations that thrive within the specific site conditions. In this workshop we will use a blend of perennial, annual, native, and ornamental species, considering factors such as bloom periods and pollinator requirements. Additionally, we'll explore some lesser-known plant varieties typically absent in conventional ornamental gardens. Participants will depart armed with a personalized 100 sq-ft planting plan tailored to their property, accompanied by a management guide.

Prior to the session, a site questionnaire will be provided, ensuring the plan is finely tuned to each participant's unique landscape.
